Die Hämophilie, auch «Bluterkrankheit» genannt, ist eine seltene, vererbte Blutgerinnungsstörung. Betroffene neigen zu starken, langanhaltenden Blutungen – besonders in den Gelenken. Die Forschung setzt auf eine neuartige Gentherapie, die künftig ein Leben ohne spontane Blutungen ermöglichen könnte.
